E-reading Devices and Paginated Media, 2011–2021

The rise of e-reading devices (tablets, e-readers, and smartphones) will continue to dramatically change the publishing industry. With an estimated 3.6 billion e-reading devices in use globally by 2021 (see graph below), the market for digital paginated media, including books, magazines, and newspapers will explode over the next decade. And, this year, owners of e-reading devices have started spending more time on apps then on the web (see graph below).

The TH(ink) E-reading Summit 2012: Brands, Content and Discovery will help those wanting to take advantage of this growth and thrive amidst rapidly transforming media and content marketplaces, technologies, and business models.
